Our mission thrives on the unwavering commitment of our volunteers — the vital force that drives our organization forward.
We have two primary areas of need:
- Help by delivering to the homes of the homebound seniors we serve
- Help in our kitchen
You can volunteer in one of two ways:
- Permanent basis – Commit to the same kitchen shift or delivery route each week.
- Substitute basis – Sign up for shifts that fit your preferred days and locations.
Meal Delivery Drivers
Clients receive meals on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Our deliveries cover Delray Beach to Jupiter/Tequesta. An average route is 7-10 stops and will have you on the road for no more than 2 hours. Pickup of meals is between 9:45 AM and 10:30 AM, depending on the location.
You will use your own car and must have a current driver's license and proof of auto insurance on file. Paperwork will be sent to you to complete via DocuSign, and you will be required to pass a background check. Attendance at an in-person volunteer orientation is required before you begin your first delivery.
We’re seeking individuals who will take a few extra minutes at each client's home to say hello and conduct a wellness check. You might be the only person they interact with that day.
Kitchen Help
This requires completing paperwork via DocuSign and passing a background check. You will learn "on the job". We need items to be counted, sorted, meals to be plated, sealed, and labeled, bread to be bagged, and drinks to be packed, etc. There are only rare occasions when volunteers are asked to prepare the food. You'll work as a team to get our nutritious and freshly made meals out the door!
