For many homebound seniors, a beloved pet is far more than a companion—it is family. A dog’s joyful greeting or a cat curled up nearby can bring comfort, purpose, and connection to each day. For older adults who live alone or have limited opportunities to socialize, the unconditional love of a pet can ease loneliness, reduce isolation, and support their emotional well-being.
How it Works
Sadly, seniors living on limited incomes may sacrifice food, medication, or other necessities to care for the animals who mean so much to them. Our clients with pets are screened for AniMeals and may enroll in the program if they meet the eligibility requirements and would like assistance. Once enrolled, clients receive the pet food their animal is accustomed to eating—or, in some cases, a higher-quality option—delivered directly to their home each month through Amazon or Chewy.
Peace of Mind
AniMeals may also help with necessary veterinary services, including annual vaccinations and care for unexpected medical conditions. By helping seniors feed and care for their cherished companions, AniMeals provides peace of mind and helps keep these special relationships healthy, happy, and together. Income and asset eligibility requirements apply, and all s ervices are subject to available funding.

Our service area ranges from Jupiter/Tequesta south to Century Village in Boca Raton. Service availability for a specific neighborhood is confirmed during the eligibility screening.
