The regular program provides 5 freshly prepared dinner style meals each week. The meals we deliver provide one-third of your daily nutritional needs and a typical meal would include a protein entrée, a starch and a vegetable. In addition, each week we include a quart of either milk or juice, 4-5 servings of whole grain bread, 1 dessert, 3 servings of fresh fruit, and 1 serving of fresh salad. Meals are provided in trays that can be microwaved or used in a regular oven to be heated. Heating instructions are normally printed on each meal tray. (The trays are recyclable as well as being made from recycled plastic content)

Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches provides a no additional salt added, rotating 4-week menu. We are currently unable to accommodate special dietary restrictions with our fresh meal menu.

We provide meals on a subsidized cost sharing basis, with each client paying something towards the cost of the meal. We use a sliding scale, so everyone contributes based on their financial ability. The scale starts at $1.75/meal ($35/month) for those with limited income and no savings and ranges up to $7.00/meal ($140/month). We look at savings, monthly income, and basic shelter expenses to determine the amount of subsidy provided. Our clients find that our meals provide them with high quality, delicious food that boosts their nutrition and provides peace of mind knowing they have meals coming to their door. Our program operates without government funding, and each client contributing according to their ability helps us meet nutritional needs quickly and avoid a wait list for service. The clients are set up for convenient monthly deductions from either a debit or credit card. In addition, our clients may utilize SNAP as a payment method as we are an authorized SNAP participant.

After the completed enrollment paperwork is received, meal service would normally begin the following week. Occasionally there may be a waiting list in certain areas, and we would contact you when service can begin.

Once you are enrolled as a client you may continue receiving meals as long as you remain eligible. We conduct re-assessments twice a year to update information and confirm continued eligibility.

Our deliveries are currently on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and the delivery person may arrive anytime between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Our program requires the client to be home to accept the delivery at the door. If there is a doctor's or similar appointment, the client is requested to call a minimum of 48 hours ahead to cancel their delivery. Extra frozen meals can always be provided ahead of time with advance notice, so no meal is ever missed. We are not able to deliver to alternate addresses or to leave the food unattended at the door.
